Weston-sub-Edge Village Hall kitchen refurbishment

Weston-sub-Edge Village Hall is a charity that was established in 1930 with a benefactor donating the hall & surrounding grounds to the inhabitants of the village.

The Trustees of the charity organise regular classes & meeting including Pilates, Zumba, Coffee mornings and a rural cinema for the social benefit of the village. Also one off events are held in the hall such as parties, weddings & jubilee celebrations to the benefit of the village residents and consistent with the objects of the charity.

The Trustees of the hall became aware of the Chipping Campden Community Trust via the website whilst undertaking their own fund raising.

The old hall is a listed building and so require much costly maintenance. The catering facilities required upgrading in order to service and expand the weddings and parties business for those hiring the hall.

The Village Hall is the only Community meeting place in the village & it helps sustain the local community in the absence of a school, village shop and post office. The Hall is also used and hired by surrounding villages.

The Trust was delighted to support the kitchen refurbishment and community activities by purchasing a hot cupboard.
